Thrust Bearing
Thrust Ball Bearings are made as single-direction and double-direction
bearings, Single-direction bearings can sustain an axial load in only
one direction, whereas double-direction Thrust Ball Bearings can sustain
bi-directional thrust loads.
Both single and double-direction Thrust Bearing are available with
aligning housing washers for mating with a housing haveing an aligning
surface radius .
Aligning seat washers with an aligning surface radius are also available for ease of desgin and mounting against a flat housing shoulder.
Thrust Bearing Numbers :
Bearings are marked with only the lower three places of the part number.
When making replacement for this bearing type, be sure to include the
dimensions, design, and part number with your order.
Example Thrust Bearing No.
51126 without (X) Suffix Symbol
Since the outside diameters of both inner and outer rings (or outside
diameter of centre ring) are the same, clearance must be provider for
outside diameter of the inner ring by use of step in the housing bore
(see Fig. 1)
51226X with (X) Suffix Symbol
Since the outside diameter of the inner ring (or outside diameter of
centre ring) in smaller than that of the outer ring, no clearance step
is required in the housing for the outer rings (see Fig. 2)
Thrust Ball Bearing
Thurst bearings are classified in accordance to the rolling elements they contain and generally the allowable rotational speed is very low.
Thrust ball bearing with signal row is called single-direction, Thrust ball bearing and can take axail load in one direction, whereas Thrust ball bearing with double row is called as double-direction Thrust ball bearing and can take axial load from both directions.
Thrust bearings with rollers as rolling element can accommodate a certain amount of radial load along with axial loads.
